Dreamscape
I like platform games (I grew up on them on my ZX Spectrum in the 1980s!), and so I purchased Dreamscape HD recently as it looked like a great “old school” platform game:
Well, I don’t like it at all!
The game attempts to be good, offering three different ways to control – traditional “touch joystick” controls, accelerometer, or “touch to go here”. The joystick control seems erratic, not always registering movement; the accelerometer requires you to tilt the iPad from flat level, while I’d prefer to be able to hold it tilted slightly toward me for easier viewing (there should be a “calibrate level” option); the final option is not great, either!
On top of that, the music is infuriatingly repetitive, but you can’t turn music off without losing all in-game sounds.
Very disappointing.
